Everything you need to know about biological and cognitive basis of learning

A new software system for employees will be received differently by different people. Some will be receptive to change and some will resist it. Some will see the benefits and try to understand the changes whilst others will fail to understand.

The best method for implementing change would be to use the Learning Styles Profiler to identify thse different types of people.

According to peoples' scores you can demonstrate the advantages of the software:

  • High Goal oriented Achievers - Tell your people how the software will help them achieve their goals, aspirations and needs
  • High Concientious Achievers - Tell your people how the software will make them more effective and enable them to do their work
  • High Emotionally Intelligent Achievers - Tell your people how the software is rational, logical and sensible
  • High Deep Learning Achievers - Tell your people the deeper knowledge and background to the software.
  • High Sensation Seekers - These people will be interested in new ideas but they have to be high scorers on some of the other scales for them to learn about the software and benefit from it. People who are just high sensation seekers and not have high scores on some of the other scales will simply 'leap into the software' without really grasping the underlying principles.

According to peoples' scores you can predict who will learn the most effectively:

High scorers on all scales - The most effective learners

Low Sensation Seekers and Low scores on the other scales - Resistant to learning

Low Sensation Seekers and High scores on the other scales - Slow to learn but performance oriented ("plodders")

High Sensation Seekers and Low scores on the other scales - Quick to learn but will often learn the wrong thing
